Research: Adolescent sexual health; Longitudinal research design and data analysis

Dr. Hensel joined the Department of Pediatrics in 2008 as an Assistant Research Professor of Pediatrics. She has broad background in social science, research methods and complex data analysis. Research interests include adolescent sexual health, with a focus on emotional, situational and relational factors associated with sexual decision making, as well as methods for longitudinal data analysis, including dyadic data analysis, structural equation modeling, growth curve modeling and hierarchical linear modeling.

Relational and contextual phenomenology of STI/HIV risk
The goal of this study is to examine the event-level characteristics associated with different sexual events and risk of STI among an urban population of 18-29 year old men and women.
